What's happening to women nowadays? They've started to commit all these ghastly violent crimes that were previously almost entirely a male province. The New York Times reports:

An 83-year-old Brooklyn woman convicted twice of killing women she lived with was charged Thursday with murder, after investigators found a head in her apartment that, officials said, belonged to a body discovered in a shopping cart last week.

Harvey Marcelin, who had served decades in prison for murder and manslaughter before her release in 2019, was arrested March 4 and was initially charged with concealment of human remains.

Well, you know where this is going. Here's Harvey:

Marcelin, a serial killer and accused rapist, was recognized in his apartment building for his distinctive wig, nails and lipstick. Marcelin, who is male, began identifying as a woman following prison stints for the murders of two women. He stands accused of the murder and dismemberment of a third woman.

An 83-year-old who served two lengthy prison stints for the murders of two women and stood accused of attempted rape by a third has been indicted on new charges after investigators connected him to a headless, limbless torso discovered in a bag on a busy Brooklyn street.

Serial killer Harvey Marcelin, who admitted during a 1997 parole hearing to having “problems” with women, served his first lengthy sentence after shooting to death his girlfriend in their shared Harlem apartment. At the time of the October 1963 conviction, Mr Marcelin had a pending charge of Attempted Rape of another woman. Mr Marcelin was paroled in May 1984. Less than a year later, he stabbed to death a live-in girlfriend and disposed of the body in a bag near Central Park. He pleaded guilty to Manslaughter, and following repeat rejections from the parole board, was finally granted parole in 2019.

Now Mr Marcelin has been arrested on suspicion of the homicide of a third woman, who was found dismembered.

In the early hours of March 3, a passerby on his way home noticed a multicolored bag with a flower decal in a shopping cart outside stores at Atlantic and Pennsylvania avenues. The passerby contacted 911 after unrolling the bag and feeling a human torso inside.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage of the area, which they say captured Mr Marcelin leaving a nearby apartment building and dumping the bag.

Police executed a search warrant at Mr Marcelin’s apartment, and found what they believed to be the head of Susan Leyden. The 68-year-old had been reported missing by a loved one on March 2.

Quite a piece of work, this Marcelin. A "problem with women"? Like dismembering them and dumping bits of their bodies on the street. The Daily Mail report added this:

A search warrant into Marcelin's home turned up a 'human head,' along with electric saws Marcelin bought at a nearby Home Depot. 

On Monday, a severed leg, which had been cut from the knee down and was still wearing a sock, was poking out of a discarded tire four blocks away. It is believed to belong to the same woman as the torso.

But thank goodness the NYT didn't misgender her him.
