Ridiculous Unison boss Andrea Egan joins the EHRC guidance battle – on the wrong side, of course.

Some other comments:

“It is not unworkable at all; you are muddying the waters to make it unworkable. The only thing you need to do Andrea is resign.”

“Lol, nope. If a workplace cannot provide legally required facilities for the dignity & safety of female staff, then it should be closed down.”

“I never thought I’d live to see a trade union with 70% female membership arguing that those workers should be denied their rights.”

“Did you forget the duties employers have re seperate toilets and changing rooms for men and women in workplaces under The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 ?”

“The law is very straightforward. Women have a right to single-sex spaces and facilities. Men do not have a right to use those spaces and facilities, regardless of how they ‘identify’ or ‘present.’
It is entirely workable if men (and you) endeavour to respect women’s rights.”

“It is workable. You don’t want to make it work because you disagree with the law, and you have no regard for women’s rights only blokes playing dress up.”

“Any woman that signs up to Unison needs their head examined. Why would any woman sign up to a union that’s trying to take her rights as a woman away?”

“The guidance is written to reflect existing law and has already been challenged by the Good Law Project and was upheld in the High Court as being lawful. The law is the law, with or without the guidance. If you want to change the Equality Act then why don’t you just admit it?”

“Single sex spaces have worked for decades, how is it suddenly unworkable?”
