From Jewish News:
The Israeli-American Council is calling for the rapper Macklemore to be dropped from the opening slot on pop star Ed Sheeran’s US tour for chanting “Free Palestine” and accusing Israel of apartheid and genocide during his performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Friday and Saturday nights….
“Ed Sheeran – do not allow your stage to be used to divide people or spread one-sided political propaganda,” IAC said, circulating a petition demanding Macklemore be taken off the bill for his remaining nine dates of the tour….
Rock star Pink shared a post on her Instagram feed condemning the rapper’s actions, whilst a scathing post on Sunday 6 September written directly to Ed Sheeran from Josh Wein, a Jewish father of two who brought his daughters to the Friday concert with his wife, has already garnered more than 54,000 ‘likes’ on the platform.
Acknowledging the “overwhelming” amount of support he’d received, writing again on Monday 7 September Wein added: “Macklemore didn’t just say “Free Palestine.” He used an Ed Sheeran concert to accuse Israel of genocide (an absurd accusation that turns the word ‘genocide’ into a political slogan), talk about Gaza and the West Bank, perform “Hind’s Hall,” and put anti-Israel political messaging across the screens at MetLife. My daughters came to see a concert. That’s what they got instead. Friday night, Macklemore made that choice. Saturday night, knowing exactly what had happened, Ed Sheeran gave him the stage to do it again. That was my point yesterday. It’s still my point today.”
Here’s Macklemore in 2014.

Classy. He was forced to apologise.
I’ve no idea about Ed Sheeran’s political views.. Does he have any? We’ll soon find out, I guess.
