    I love the “LIQUORSTOTAKEOUT” sign with no spaces between words. Just add “.com” at the end and it’s modern!
    That first photo was likely taken in the Sunset district, on the west side of town (where I lived for a year). Those houses look essentially the same to this day.

    The caption for that first photo says “Foggy night, Land’s End, San Francisco, 1953” – which I see from the map is just the other side of Golden Gate Park from the Sunset District.
