Which US states are sung about the most? Someone's done the statistics, and the results are in. No surprise to see New York and California heading the list, but if you take population into account, then the Southern states rise again, with Misssissippi, Georgia and Tennessee all featuring strongly. Also, more surprisingly, Montana.

Of course Normblog was there first, with Norm's United States of Song. All titles linked to various YouTube performances. How long must that have taken? Typically thorough, he only allowed New York songs about the state, not the city – which cut it down to size. Though it wasn't a contest, I rather think he had Texas as the winner, with 137 songs.
