Well, this explains a lot. From the Telegraph – Stonewall helped Labour draw up ‘chilling’ trans law:
Stonewall has helped Labour to draw up its “chilling” new conversion therapy law, The Telegraph can disclose.
The Government is relying on research produced by the controversial pro-trans charity to justify the introduction of the new criminal offence.
Stonewall’s head of policy was also invited to a meeting in No 10 to discuss the law, and made recommendations to MPs investigating the draft legislation.
On Thursday night, gender-critical groups expressed alarm that Stonewall was being given high-profile access to Downing Street, when that was denied to them.
How idiotic can this government get? Over the last few years Stonewall has been exposed as a lying bunch of charlatans pushing an extreme gender ideology across the country, as one organisation after nother has realised they’ve been scammed, and withdrawn from their schemes. Only the Labour Party hasn’t got the message. And now they’re pushing this Stonewall-inspired bill on us, to make it illegal to oppose the spread of this nonsense.
The charity has been repeatedly accused of undermining women’s rights by pushing what critics have claimed is an extreme trans ideology, and lobbying workplaces to shut down gender-critical debate.
Dozens of public bodies pulled out of Stonewall’s controversial diversity training schemes over fears they prioritised gender identity over biological sex.
Dennis Kavanagh, the director of the Gay Men’s Network, said his organisation had not been afforded such meetings. He said: “The level of government access afforded to Stonewall is extraordinary, particularly in view of their extreme position on gender matters and their poor track record in accurately stating the law.”
Added. Josh Howie:
How on earth an organisation that misrepresented the law to so many institutions, for so many years, to such devastating effect, be allowed anywhere near another law that could potentially net them millions and cause more untold damage, is a government scandal in its own right.
