Muslims seem to believe that a woman — or a child, apparently — who has consented to premarital sex with one person or shows her hair and body no longer has the right to say “no” to men. She becomes communal property, a fallen woman with no male protector who can therefore be raped by any man who wants her. This is apparently how they see Western women by default, which is why the rape statistics have shot up in Europe lately, and also why it’s not Muslim women who are getting raped.
If one of these men attempts to assault you, mention a husband, even if you don’t actually have one. This has stopped assaults on multiple occasions, because if a woman is married, she belongs to her husband, and raping her is therefore a sin. It’s not a sin in Islam to rape an unmarried Western woman, but knowingly raping a married woman is a line that many Muslim men won’t cross.
