The Green Party has urged people “inspired by the protests in France” to join a demonstration in London….
On Sunday the Hackney Greens shared a post encouraging those “inspired” by the scenes to join a march against austerity planned for next week.
Florence Schechter, a Green councillor and cabinet member at Hackney council, urged activists to follow the French example at the March against Austerity, which will take place in central London next Tuesday. Schechter wrote: “Inspired by the protests in france? we have our own protest in the UK the day before the autumn budget is announced to tell our government what we think about austerity.”

A Green party activist who praised Iran’s former supreme leader for his “integrity and decency” and who is part of a campaign expressing solidarity with the Islamic republic helped to pass the party’s controversial anti-Zionism policy, The Times can reveal.
Niloufar “Nilly” Brook backed the “Zionism is racism” motion adopted at the Greens’ conference this month and campaigned against British restrictions on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Her work was praised by Animah Kosai, a member of the Green party council and Greens for Palestine, who separately helped to amend a motion opposing action against the Revolutionary Guard.
In an Instagram video in July Brook praised Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s former supreme leader who was killed in a joint US-Israeli strike in February. She said that “the legacy of Khamenei has that sort of integrity and decency”, that he had been “heavily demonised” in the West and had “died with honour”. Mourning for him would show the world “how loved he was”, she added….
Caroline Lucas, the former Green leader, has said that the party’s democratic structures have left it “woefully exposed” to entryism. Ellie Chowns, one of the party’s MPs, said it needed to make sure it was not “vulnerable to capture by extremists and racists”.
That ship has sailed, you idiots. The party has already been captured by extremists and racists.
