From the Times:
A convicted terrorist has used TikTok to sell and promote Islamic books, including one that instructs women to seek their husband’s permission to leave the house.
Mizanur Rahman has written eight books under the alias Abu Baraa that also discourage Muslims from holding elected political office and promote interpretations of Islamic law that call for homosexuals to be killed.
They have recently been removed from sale by Waterstones and TikTok’s online shop, but remain available on Amazon, Kindle and eBay.
Rahman, 43, was found guilty in 2016 of inviting support for the Islamic State alongside Anjem Choudary, who has radicalised dozens of extremists, including the killers of Fusilier Lee Rigby and the ringleader of the 2017 London Bridge attack.
As well as the books, Rahman gives online sermons that urge British Muslims not to vote and he has denounced Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza….
In one book, titled What Is Known from Islam by Necessity, Rahman writes: “The husband has the right over his wife that he is obeyed, that she maintains peace and tranquillity with him and that she will give him intimate relationship and ultimately children.”
It promotes “complete segregation between men and women in all spheres of their lives” and says women are forbidden to go outside with perfume.
Rahman also writes: “You must know that it is forbidden for a woman to leave her house without permission. Ibn ‘Omar reports [in historical religious text] from the Prophet that once a lady came to the Prophet and asked him about the rights of a husband on his wife.
“He replied: ‘She should not leave her house without his permission’. However, that does not mean that she is not allowed to leave the home at all or that or that her husband is allowed to imprison her or bring undue harm to her.”
The Prophet, as we know, was the perfect man in every way – even though he was, in fact, a 7th century Arabian warlord. So no further discussion is required.
