From the Telegraph:

A Jewish comedian was expelled from a north London writers’ group after he admitted being a Zionist.

Harry Deansway was thrown out of the Offbeat Writer’s Group after Ruby Sullivan, its organiser, questioned him about his views on Israel.

When he explained that he was “Jewish and a Zionist”, but that he supported Palestinian rights and opposed actions that caused suffering to the Palestinian people, she replied: “I don’t think there is a place in the Offbeat Writers’ Group for you because of this.”
