From the Times – Jewish Greens face sanctions for belonging to ‘Zionist’ synagogues:
Green Party members risk being reported to the party for racism if they belong to “Zionist” synagogues, under plans to be voted on at the party conference this weekend.
Green members decided against an amendment designed to protect Jewish members attending self-declared “Zionist” organisations, including synagogues and prayer groups, from reports of racism, at a party workshop last week discussing the motion.
It means that the party will now be asked to vote at their conference in Brighton this weekend on a motion to declare all Zionism — the movement that led to the creation of Israel as a Jewish state — a form of racism….
The motion in its current form sets out that “Zionism … will be treated as any other form of racism, and this motion will be implemented by the anti-racism policy working group as appropriate and in accordance with its ordinary practice”.
This means members reported internally for “Zionism” — which could include attending a self-defined Zionist synagogue or community centre — could be made subjects of racism-related disciplinary procedures. The party’s disciplinary committee would then decide on an outcome that could range from no further action to expulsion from all Green activities.
A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism, which attended the event undercover, warned that the amendment would “introduce an official litmus test for Jewish people in a major political party”.
Oh come on – just ban Jews. Make the Greens judenfrei. You know you want to.
As students are encouraged to be inclusive to trans people and Muslims, Greens are encouraged to be exclusive to Jews. Here we go…
