Ralph Al-Shamali, head of pro-Hizbullah Lebanese Christian militia Humat Al-Diyar, said in a November 8, 2024 appearance on Lebanon On (YouTube) that he is not willing to kowtow to the Israelis because the Zionists crucified Christ. He said that the Zionists have a culture of death, while he represents a culture of life, which consists of martyrdom for the sake of truth and God. Al-Shamali continued to say that he enjoys killing the Zionists because they had crucified Jesus Christ, he added that he loves killing them and that it "relaxes" him. He criticized Hizbullah for its moral code, saying that they should be bombing Israeli schools, killing the children inside, elderly people, nuns – if there are any in Israel – and rabbis. He added that this is the only language the "bloodthirsty and barbaric enemy" understands.

Humat Al-Diyar (Protectors of the Homeland) is also the title of the Syrian national anthem. These are murky waters…
