Well I voted for the Israeli entry entirely of my own accord, because I loathed the way antisemites tried to bully Eden Golan. If this annoys Owen Jones that’s a bonus. I also voted for the Ukrainian entry for reasons that weren’t entirely æsthetic, and laughed when the UK’s Olly Alexander scored nul points in the popular round. Croatia should have won, though.

Gosh – saw the end of the scoring on TV and listened to the highest rated songs afterwards on YouTube and couldn’t even finish Croatia’s. Ukraine’s wasn’t bad but Eden Golan’s seemed head and shoulders above the other top five or six. She has a great voice and the song seemed a different quality than the others – and I say that as someone who generally derides Eurovision and it’s naffness.
