It's the way it goes: each new generation rebels against the old generation, and in turn, on growing old, looks on in horror and disbelief at the antics of the youngsters. That's how progress works. It's the dynamic of history.

It's a nice story…

Back in the day we protested against the Vietnam War, and for civil rights. Those were US-centric of course, but we joined in, and had our own civil rights battles – Rock Against Racism, and Women's Lib and gay lib and all that. 

And now?

You'd have to be blind or stupid not to see that the marches and demos for Free Palestine have become drenched in antisemitism, with "From the river to the sea" and calls for intifada. They've sided with a genocidal Islamist group, against the Jews.

And the gender war? They've been fooled into thinking that trans is the latest oppressed demographic that needs to be liberated, when they're really campaigning for men who get a sexual kick out of dressing up as women – thereby destroying women-only spaces and women's sport – and for the medical mutilation of gender non-conforming kids to turn them into grotesque parodies of the other sex.

So no…I don't see it. This is different. They've lost their way.
