A woman in Chesterfield suffered a horrendously violent and abusive relationship with her body-building trans boyfriend, and as a result required a stay in a mental health unit. The police were called in but decided it was just a domestic dispute, and no further action on their part was required.
Then at the women's psychiatric unit where she was housed she got into an argument with a "non-binary" woman, and refused to say this person was a man. As a result a month later she was summoned by Derbyshire police to attend the station for a formal interview. In the letter, police explained that she was alleged to have “performed a public order offense” in which she “directed words deemed offensive towards another individual on the ward.”
So…violent domestic abuse, no problem…misgendering and "transphobic" behaviour, yes, the police take it very seriously indeed…
