It's always A Whiter Shade of Pale that's remembered, but Procol Harum were much more than a one-hit wonder band. There was the classical stuff with orchestras, like Grand Hotel, which I think they pulled off better than any other rock band.
And then there was this: Simple Sister, from the 1971 album Broken Barricades – a killer riff that that was heavy metal before heavy metal, plus dark dark lyrics.
And what a great vocalist he was.
