Sarah Vaughan in 1988, still holding and bending those long notes, still with perfect control. Only a couple of years before her death in April 1990, aged 66. She's in Wellington, New Zealand – and isn't too keen on having some of the audience behind her.

    Thank you for this – I didn’t know it was on YouTube. I was there, in the seats behind her. It was magic when she turned around to sing to us. Magic concert throughout, really.
