Obama was an untouchable as far as the sycophantic press – First Black President! – was and is concerned. The Nobel prize before he had done anything was the signal to any who may have even thought about criticising him so critics kept their heads down. Of course, those who have paid most heavily are not white, middle class journalists.

Yes, Obama. Can’t use Trump as a symbol of what the US has done or not done in previous years. Plenty of opportunity for that in the next four years, no doubt.
