I suggested last week that at least some of the motivation for Turkey's intransigence over the Armenian genocide is based on a refusal to acknowledge that Muslims might ever be the guilty party. Sheikh Qaradhawi agrees:
We stand by our brothers in Turkey. All Muslims must oppose France in [its Armenian genocide bill]. We reject any allegation against the Muslims at any time. Throughout its history, Islam has never wanted to annihilate any nation. This is completely unacceptable.
