I guess he hasn’t heard Tariq Ali’s announcement that ‘… whatever the final outcome, the Libyan people have lost. The country will either be partitioned into a Gaddafi state and a squalid pro-west protectorate led by selected businessmen, or the west will take out Gaddafi and control the whole of Libya and its huge oil reserves.’

Tariq Ali talks about “occupied Iraq” in that article. Since Iraq has a consitution and an election with a high turnout, it’s obvious that he thinks of democracy as just a way for one group to gain permanent ascendency over all other groups. He calls it an occupation when his group does not win.
I noticed that the comments usually see through his little ruse. This might be the start of the CiF Spring!
