It's been a cold spring so far on the US East Coast, which may have affected the cherry blossom display in DC. That's the only excuse I can think of. We were there last weekend and the blossoms were out, as were the tourists, but I was underwhelmed. Not even as pretty as Walthamstow. Back in warm sunny London the blossoms may not be spread strategically around famous sites like the Jefferson Memorial, but they're still looking good:
