Another lot not too happy with what's happening in Libya.

The women, of course, walk behind the men, covered up in their black sacks.

    In the interview the bearded guy 😉 , following the parade, rants on about the Fr./UK/US beating up on Libya, and how the West had supplied Libya’s arms in the first place. Uh, no; that’d be the Russkies. You know, the ones that voted against beating up on Ghadafi. The same ones that have their boots on Muslim Chechnya’s throat.
    There’s been a long standing arms embargo against Libya, from before the Chad-Libya war I believe…(in which Libya had it’s ass handed to them.)
    I guess the good news is that Libya’s chronic shortage of spare parts for their tanks has been solved for them.

    Unfortunately DaninVan Europe lifted the arms embargo against Libya years ago. I’m not usually given to reference Liberal Conspiracy but as they say
    “The arms-promotion wing of the UK government counts Libya as a “priority market”, and says “high-level political interventions” have supported UK weapons sales there. Last November, over half of the exhibitors at the Libyan Defence & Security Exhibition (LibDex) were UK companies.”
    The Italians, Germans and French have their hands dirty as well.

    Thanks, Alvin;
    we tend to be overwhelmed by the US pov, over on this side of the pond.
    Your info came as a bit of a surprise considering all the fallout from Lockerbie. Never let principles get in the way of a sale, I’m guessing.

    That English Pravda site is getting surreal. Look at this article:
    http://english.pravda.ru/hotspots/crimes/25-03-2011/117336-reason_for_war_oil-0/
    Turns out this uprsing is actually about oil. Who would have guessed. Some quotes:
    “Do not be afraid to directly redistribute the oil money and create fairer governance structures that respond to people’s interests,” Gaddafi said in a Popular Committee.
    “The Administration has failed and the state’s economy has failed. Enough is enough. The solution is for the Libyan people to directly receive oil revenues and decide what to do with them,” Gaddafi said in a speech broadcast on state television.
    In the U.S., there is a particulary motley group of interventionist war mongers who don’t know what they’re doing: Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton and Samantha Power, obviously sexually frustrated and repressed man hating lesbians who want to prove they are he-men.
