It's a powerful short film, but I'm a little uneasy about the use of "apartheid" – partly perhaps because we now associate the term so much with its misuse in the context of Israel and the Palestinians. Aren't there good enough words already for the oppression of women – patriarchy? misogyny? - without making a dubious parallel with South Africa?

Still, anything that draws attention to the nastiness of the regime in Iran is fine with me. And whatever you call it, the brutal treatment that women suffer there is real enough.
