In memory of Marvelettes founder and lead singer Gladys Horton, who's just died:

She was 66. She recorded this, in 1961, when she was just 17. It was Motown's first no. 1 on the US pop charts. Later covered by the Beatles, of course.

Not forgetting the funkier Too many fish in the sea from 1964.

    They kind of got neglected by Motown in the late 60s once the Supremes and the male groups started to get the extra virgin first cold pressing, but produced two more absolute classics – “When you’re young and in love” and “Destination anywhere”.
