This is an eye-catcher. Just off Dalston Lane:
Those are wind turbines down the side there, four of them, and they whip round at a fair old speed. They're supposed to supply 15% of the building's energy needs.
Currently, being brand new and all, they're silent. Give it a few years and a bit of neglect (well, this is Hackney), when the lubrication schedule falls behind-hand and the buggers start squeaking, they're going to drive those poor residents mad.
I know I’ve pointed this out in the past, but not everyone pays attention. 😉
Rooftop solar collectors (not solar panels) could offer huge savings both in domestic hot water heating and in building heating Fall and Winter. These evacuated tube collectors are over 90% efficient and work in cloud or sun!

I’ve mentioned in the past my take on British architecture; a lot of it is remote and soulless.
This Kinetica Bldg. is a prime example.
I’m not saying it’s ugly…well yes, I guess I am.
