I've said it before: the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea is so much more welcoming than the major London galleries. And with that all-important personal touch: this morning I passed Charles Saatchi himself coming out as I was going in. No, I don't think he recognised me.

The current exhibition, The Empire Strikes Back: Indian Art Today, is well worth a visit, but I was drawn to the basement and Richard Wilson's 20:50: his pool of black sump oil. For whatever reason they've fenced off the steel walkway featured in the pictures here: a shame, but it's still rather fine.

The smell of the oil ever so slightly, and not unpleasantly, permeates the whole building.
