    Was there ever a dictator whose demise was so widely lamented by the chattering classes? Of course the lamenters will all say that’s not what they are doing, but given that they are saying there should have been no action to remove Saddam and not that some different action should have been taken, it is hard to see how they could object to this description. I imagine a heaven for dictators where Saddam sits around with Hitler, Mussolini, Ceausescu, etc., saying (with a big smile on his face) ‘You didn’t get this’, ‘You didn’t get this’. …
