Foxes can climb trees?! Who knew!
He/she looks pretty well groomed; subsisting on rodents? (or more likely, domestic cats)

There’s a wall to the side, and a fairly easy drop down to an overgrown playground on the other side, so the fox didn’t need to do much climbing to get there.
I wonder about the diet. He (I’m assuming a male, as he seemed fairly large to me) looks healthy enough, as you say, though no doubt it’s tough at this time of year. A cat-owning friend reckoned they wouldn’t go for cats – just too much trouble what with the sharp claws and all. But if there wasn’t much else around, well, I doubt they’d need much persuading. Not that our cat’s in much danger. She barely goes out now; just spends her time snoozing by the radiator.

We have a fox in our neighborhood, and he runs away at the sight of a cat. My cat is 36 lbs, barely moves from his spot on the lawn, but the fox is frightened of him. In fact, my neighbor’s kids are frightened of him.

Hmm. Where did you acquire this cat of yours? The zoo?

Very nice picture. We had a whole family of foxes living in our backyard a few years ago. Beautiful animals, but vicious hunters. They cleared the yard of everything…squirrels, chipmunks, birds, snakes…not just eaten, but torn to shreds. I’d find half the snake on one side of the yard one day, the same half a bit more chewed up on the other side of the yard a day or two later…
