An amusing diversion – the words to 50 well-known songs listed in alphabetical order, but with each word appearing no more than once regardless of how many times it actually appears in the song. How many can you recognise? Not surprisingly, the more literate the song, the easier it is to identify. (Via Metafilter)

I don’t know how the literate comment. I found the songs I recognised most quickly were all due to a certain word that gave me a lead. After that it was a process of confirmation. How many lyrics contain “scaramouche” or “excitations”?
When I didn’t get a particular word it was much harder and I was surprised at some I missed.LikeLike

Well yes, it is often the odd unusual word that does it. I suppose by literate I was referring to songs such as Like A Rolling Stone, which is dead easy – how many songs have compromise, diplomat, jugglers, napoleon?
