Very appropriately, it reminds me of the Ministry of Love in 1984, though the latter had no windows. About as bleak as any totalitarian architecture, Mussolini’s additions to Rome, Chausescu’s Bucharest, and much of the industrial towns of Stalin’s USSR.
You can deride religion as much as you like, but it still produces the remarkable and indeed inspiring, like your recent post on temples. What secular architecture can match the Sagrada Familia? God may not exist, but in reaching for Him, man can soar.LikeLike

One wonders how many Koreans were starved or simply forced into abject misery to satisfy the ego maniacal need to create it’s image in concrete and steel.
