Finns invented the tango? Certainly they have the necessary melancholy, but do they have the style? Frankly I don’t think so. I’ll admit though that my only experience of Finns – drinking themselves joylessly into oblivion on a Friday evening in St Petersburg, where they head at the weekend because the booze is cheap – perhaps prejudices me against them.
