Hmm. Normblog gloats (yes, I think that’s the word) over Arsenal’s double defeat: FA Cup then European Cup. I had the misfortune of meeting a Man U fan in the pub last night, who made no attempt to suppress his glee and told me happily that he’d be backing Liverpool against Arsenal at the weekend, “even though I can’t bloody stand Liverpool”. I don’t think he was making a point about “you haven’t done it until you’ve done it.” I think he was following the lead of that wonderfully warm-hearted and loveable man, the spirit of Man U, Sir Alex Ferguson.
