A reminder that non-dynastic leaders in the region who engaged in dynastic behaviors, preparing or letting their sons take over – Mubarak, Saddam Hussein, Kaddafi, Assad – did not exactly do well for themselves or their countries. A Khameini dynastic succession is a fail sign.

In the region, yes. There’s always the grim Kim dynasty in North Korea – but that’s another story.

I would caution about the reports claiming that Mojtaba Khamenei has been selected as Supreme Leader. Mojtaba was seriously injured in the strikes on the first day. As I have also reported, the Assembly of Experts never completed its vote. The whole story is very suspect.
