Dublin City Council’s move to strip my grandfather’s name from Herzog Park is deeply troubling.

Chaim Herzog was born in Belfast, attended school in Dublin & fought the Nazis as an Irishman.

In November 1938, the Hallerstraße street and subway station in Hamburg, named for the Jewish Nicolaus Haller, had their name changed to the non Jewish Ostmarkstraße.

Thousands of places named for Jews in Germany were renamed by the Nazis.
