A Times report – Aberdeen University’s trigger warning for ‘challenging’ Peter Pan:
A Scottish university has been ridiculed for introducing a trigger warning for Peter Pan, suggesting the popular children’s fantasy could be “emotionally challenging”.
Aberdeen University has included the tale by JM Barrie, who was born in Kirriemuir, Angus, in a list of titles that may leave undergraduates needing help if they are unable to cope with the content. Other books on the list include The Railway Children by E Nesbit and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis.
[A comment: should Winnie the Pooh then carry a Tigger warning?]
