From the New York art scene in the 1980s, by photographer Jeannette Montgomery Barron. It was, we learn, "arguably the most exciting time for artists in Downtown New York". Some fine portraits here, including a rare shot of Cindy Sherman as Cindy Sherman, but I think I've seen enough pictures of Andy Warhol already, thanks. And Bianca Jagger? Oh well.
Quite a few I'd never heard of, but it's good to see William Burroughs, Zelig-like, insinuate himself into this parade of the young, attractive, and hip:
