RightWingBob has a George Jones Amazing GraceYouTube link. Though I'm second to none, as the saying goes, in my appreciation of the man as perhaps in his prime the finest Country male singer of them all, I'll pass on this one. Indeed I'll pass on most versions of the song, but it does remind me of the overlooked genius of Russell Smith and the Amazing Rhythm Aces. Listen to this and you'll never hear Amazing Grace in the same way again:

Their other hit was the wonderful Third Rate Romance. Both songs are from their wonderful 1975 debut album Stacked Deck….where you'll also find Life's Railway to Heaven.

LeftWingBob here. The Amazing Rhythm Aces used to be my favourite band. I absolutely loved that album, and this song in particular, but I haven’t thought about it for years – all my vinyl is sitting gathering dust in my parents’ sitting room. Thank you for bringing back the lovely memories.
