The growth on the surface of the Lea (mentioned here) looks almost solid enough to walk across in places…
Though there are a few clear patches…
Some effort's made to fight back against the weedy menace:
The platform at the front's lowered into the water, and the moving belt picks up the gunge and dumps it in the boat. Horrible job, mind: it starts rotting straight away, and the stench is awful. I hope they've got something better planned for 2012, with this stretch of water running right by the Olympic site.
