Wide open spaces – it's the ninth largest country in the world – bigger than Western Europe – and the largest landlocked country. 

There's precious little info with the photos, but I'm guessing that the blue water (fourth down) is the Caspian Sea, and some of the lower pictures may be of where the Aral Sea used to be.
