The personal ads at Japundit – at the right of the page – have always amused me: pictures of young Japanese, mostly female, trying to look foxy, each with a little motto like a modern fortune cookie. Of the current crop (and they change regularly) "loving the world, loving yourself" is typical.
Unfortunately their English often isn't good enough to know quite what they're saying. What to make of "Times let possession become losing"? Is there some kind of Zen wisdom buried away there? Who knows.
My favourite: "My world will be nice without wind, its all because of you". Is she looking for someone to advise her on dietary matters?
