I posted a clip of the Louvin Brothers a while back (can't find it at the moment, as the new improved Typepad appears to have lost the Search function) but the synch was out. No apologies for putting it up again, recently re-posted on YouTube with synch sorted, though it is cut short:

It features, again, in this nine-minute clip from Hank Wangford's TV program on Country music brothers, including interviews with Charlie Louvin and Chet Atkins about, among other things, Ira Louvin's terrible temper.

And, just because it's a classic, and it featured on Dylan's Theme Time Radio show Musical Map which I mentioned the other day, here's Knoxville Girl.

Eva Taylor sang with Clarence Williams (her husband) from the mid 20s into the 30s. Then she popped up in Copenhagen in the mid 70s, singing with a band whose rhythm section is drummerless. Personally, I love it.

Strange – a bunch of Danish hippies playing trad jazz, but yes, I like that. Couldn’t be further from the Louvin Brothers, mind…
